    Re: Another Question about CSET
Posted by Confession of a CSET failure on 8/04/08

I took and passed sections I, II, IV on the single subject
English. I have made several attempts to pass section III, but
unfortunatley, I have been unsuccessful. I have tried many
things to help aid my success in passing this section: I hired
a tutor; I took a test prep course; and, I am embarrassed to
admit, I went to a hypnotherapist to help me overcome my mental
block to the test -all to no avail. I am a decent writer; the
feedback/grades I have received have always been
positive. However, I have found it virtually impossible to
produce 2 essays while sitting in a room for five hours -
especially critical/analytical writing. I have been taking
course work in an attempt to fulfill the unit requirements, and
    have been earning 'A's'.

...Not to be defensive, but it is not uncommon to find critical
readers on tnet so... in response to those readers who want to
label me 'stupid', I do have an MA in TESOL and twenty years
of teaching experience. The past eight years have been in
middle school - four of which have been as a Reading/Language
Arts teacher. I have also always received excellent
    evaluations.
