Re: I had a great interview! But no job yet...

    Let me make a recommendation:

Contact a professor who is at the university you got your
credential. Hopefully, it would be one who knows you personally.

Subbing 8 years is NOT NECESSARY. Something is missing from
    your skill set. Ask yourself:
    1. Do I have at least 2 or 3 good letters of recommendation
    that are current?
    2. Did I complete all testing requirements including the CTEL
    exam (or equivalent work).
    3. Did I offend someone at the district who influences hiring
    (principal, vice principal, influential teachers)?
    4. Do I have a skill which will help me be desirable: fluent
in Spanish, add on credential like Reading Recovery,
credentialled in Math and/or Natural Sciences.

I would get to the bottom of this. You are working for low
pay and likely without benefits. Kids don't treat subs well.
You deserve a career with benefits and retirement. Talk to a
professor soon or better yet, a principal on your side, and
find out what is WRONG. Otherwise, I would switch careers.
    Teaching is not worth this.
