over taxing Californians will not solve the problem, as with up to
14% unemployment and those working often facing paycheck cuts, we
cannot afford more.
I fully understand that repealing prop 13 would/will have
ludicrous (sp?) issues, as yes some people's cheap homes went
expensive. Maybe you should pay the property tax for what you
bought it as.....or, well unfortunately I had to move (family and
job issues) during the "boom" and bought a $400,000 house,
regularly worth $250,000. So maybe a mix of the two.... pay taxes
based on what you paid for it, plus a 5% increase yearly to
account for inflation.
It just seems CA tries to squeeze water from a dry sponge, or
blood form a turnip.
