My response to the proposal that property taxes in CA be increased by 5%
every year would add up to quite a lot over a period of time.

People survive the higher percentage of taxes in other states because the
cost of homes in the states that have a 5% + property tax are worth less
than California property, and the taxes on those properties are not
increasing each year by 5%.
