A HQT certificate of compliance should not expire. There is
nothing in the certificate of compliance section that should
require renewal... those that I've seen have an issuance date
but no expiration. I'm puzzled as to why they would have
indicated a five-year 'expiration' date on yours.
However, it does say "If any of the special settings
indicated below apply to this certificate of compliance,
transferability of this compliance may be limited" and
charter school is one of the "special settings." Because of
that, it's possible you'll need one at a new school
(combining that with the 'expiration' date on yours and it's
quite likely another school will want to give you a
new one rather than risk having your old one considered
invalid or nontransferrable) but if you meet the HQT
requirements, this shouldn't be a big deal. Just make sure
you have proof of your bachelor's degree, credential, and
subject matter competence (CSET results, or transcripts
indicating coursework, or documentation for HOUSSE, etc).
